Sutherland Ave. ATC '2' Lake Ave. to Ethel Street
2018 – 2019 | Kelowna, BC
McElhanney was retained by the City of Kelowna to provide civil engineering services for the Sutherland ‘2’ Active Transportation Corridor project, an important east-west link in the City’s ATC network plan.
Our Kelowna team managed and completed a fast-tracked design and tender schedule for the City of Kelowna. Significant additional works were successfully designed and constructed concurrently with the original project scope. Despite the additional works, designs were completed in 2018 and construction completed on schedule and under budget in 2019.
Designs included the first protected, at grade, two-way cycle track design in the City and has set the precedent section for the remainder of the Sutherland ATC corridor.
McElhanney provided:
- 420m of watermain, sanitary sewer, & storm sewer improvements
- 1km of roadway improvements including the addition of a two-way cycle track, curbing, sidewalk, landscaping and streetlighting
- Multi-use path bridge crossing of Mill Creek
