Roberts Bank Rail Corridor – Surrey Combo Overpass Project

McElhanney’s component was located within the City of Surrey,City of Langley and Township of Langley between 192nd and 196th Streets, and between the Nicomekl River and 64th Avenue. McElhanney provided design management services, geometrics, traffic analysis, utility relocations, traffic management plan, lightweight fill accommodation with MSE wall designs, railway crossing permits, and construction quality review for roads and bridges.

Parks Canada Campground Concepts & Design Manual

The Parks Canada Campground manual forms the foundation for developmental standard and design guides for existing and new campgrounds. With the original manual created in 1972 and last updated in 1992, Parks Canada needed a new edition for modern visitors. McElhanney was given the opportunity to update and develop the manual to guide the renewal of campgrounds and associated facilities throughout Canada’s national parks.

Mount Lehman Interchange

Mount Lehman Interchange 2004-2006 | Abbotsford was Canada’s fastest growing economy in 2004 according to The Conference Board of Canada. The existing Mt. Lehman Road / TransCanada Highway Interchange was overwhelmed by this rapid growth and the expansion of Abbotsford International Airport.

Jasper Tramway Upgrades

Jasper Tramway Upgrades 2012 | Jasper SkyTram whisks people to 2300m elevation, providing access to boardwalks and hiking trails to the summit of Whistler’s Mountain. What started out as an upgrade design for the tram’s braking system has turned into a long-term relationship between McElhanney and the owners.

Highway 97 Corridor Improvements, Boucherie to Westlake Conceptual Planning Study 2013-2017 | West Kelowna, BC Highway 97 is the primary North-South roadway through the Okanagan Valley, connecting the communities of Osoyoos, Oliver, Penticton, Kelowna, Vernon, and Kamloops.

High Rockies Trail

High Rockies Trail Completed in 2017, this approximately 80 km portion of the Trans Canada Trail connects the Elk Valley of British Columbia to Banff National Park, and offers breath-taking views of the Rocky Mountains. The Trail accommodates a wide variety of uses (biking, hiking, skiing, etc.) along its length.

Haisla Multiplex

Haisla Multiplex – The Haisla Multiplex is a 40,000ft 2 High Importance category structure designed to serve several purposes. Not only is it a much-needed recreational space in the area, the building also converts into a shelter to act as post-disaster housing should a tsunami or other natural disaster occur.

Golden Ears Bridge

Golden Ears Bridge 2005-2009 | Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, Surrey, and Langley, BC – Prior to 2009, residents and commuters in Langley, Maple Ridge, and Pitt Meadows faced long traffic delays when crossing the Fraser River. At the time, the only options available were the Port Mann Bridge or the Albion Ferry.
