Valleyview Airport Runway Study, Valleyview, AB
Client: Town of Valleyview | Year: 2021
Services Provided:
Site review and recommendations with airport expert; geotechnical study; mobile laser scan; project management.
Benefit to the Client:
The Town of Valleyview needed a firm that could bring together a variety of services at an affordable price to understand the scope of work necessary to rehabilitate their local airport. McElhanney’s team of technical experts delivered the study on time and on budget, despite tight deadlines.
Brief Project Summary:
The Town of Valleyview’s airport is primarily used by local pilots and for critical services, such as air ambulances. When reports revealed that the runway surface was nearing its end, McElhanney enlisted a regional airport expert to provide recommendations for next steps. To meet the Town’s budget, without sacrificing quality or survey detail, our team recommended the use of Mobile Laser Scanning which provided higher quality data in a fraction of the time required by conventional methods.
Attachie / Altares Development, Near Hudson’s Hope, BC
Client: Arc Resources Ltd. | Year: 2018 – Ongoing
Services Provided:
Modelling; design; survey; remote sensing; mine planning / permitting; and GIS.
Benefit to the Client:
Arc Resources Ltd. required a variety and considerable volume of infrastructure from a consultant they could trust. McElhanney’s multi-disciplinary team leveraged their professional expertise to assist with multiple projects across a range of disciplines, eliminating the need for Arc to hire multiple consultants.
Brief Project Summary:
Though not as remote as some areas of Northeast BC, the watercourses and ground conditions at the Attachie / Altares field make it challenging to access. McElhanney’s dedicated team were quick to react, presenting multiple solutions to problems encountered and generating plans, mapping, spatial files, and reports in a timely manner. Our solutions allowed Arc to gather data efficiently and accurately.
