It’s official: Our very own David Ellis, Structural Division Manager, was honoured with a 2023 Canadian Consulting Engineer (CCE) Top 10 Under 40 Award!
These awards recognize outstanding up-and-coming young professional engineers in the consulting or construction fields. David’s application spoke to his 13-year career journey and all of his lessons and achievements along the way. After a rigorous evaluation process, David was selected due to his technical excellence, keen eye for innovation, and commitment to mentorship and community involvement.
When asked about this award win and what it means to him, David replied, “Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to have worked with amazing teams who enabled me to succeed while taking on new challenges and roles with increasing responsibility. I am also incredibly appreciative of the mentorship and advocacy that I have received from leaders at McElhanney and within the broader consulting engineering industry. This recognition from CCE wouldn’t have been possible without this support—thank you to everyone who has helped me along my career journey thus far!”
David currently works out of our Victoria, BC branch as Structural Division Manager. In addition to leading a team of 20 professional and technical staff, he is involved in a broad range of projects: complex highway bridge replacements, seismic retrofits, and condition renewal projects in both technical and project management roles.
